How To Care For Your Ceramic Tableware

Now that you've purchased all of these beautiful ceramics, how then, do you take care of them to ensure that they last as long as possible? Here are 5 tips to care for your ceramic tableware.

1.    Handwashing

While some of our ceramic tableware are dishwasher-safe (this is stated under the 'care' section of each product on our online store), handwashing your dishes reduces the chance of them chipping or breaking in the dishwasher — because we all know that accidents can happen. Handwashing can also help clear any food residue that a dishwasher might miss.

2.    Avoid abrasive sponges

When washing your ceramic tableware, keep in mind to avoid any abrasive sponges or brushes, such as metal pads or steel wools. These can cause excessive scratching on your beautiful ceramics.

3.    Soak in warm water

To rid your dinnerware of persistent leftover food, try soaking your dish in warm water and a little bit of dishwashing liquid for a few minutes. This should help with any stubborn residue!

4.    Avoid sudden thermal changes

This is an important one. Avoid abrupt temperature changes (i.e. directly moving your dish from an extremely cold environment to a hot one) to prevent your tableware from thermal shock. Thermal shock may cause immediate ceramic breakage. Yes, this applies to all ceramics in general.

5.    Store with care

Last but certainly not least, storing your ceramics with care can certainly help elongate its life span. While storing your dishes, avoid piling heavier wares on top of lighter ones. Also, avoid stacking items that are not designed for stacking — such as cups and mugs.
